The Hewett Arms lies on the edge of Shireoaks. It's nestled between two coarse fishing ponds and you can enjoy a pint of beer or a wine while anglers haul the bream (or not!) from the water just outside the windows. It seems an upmarket place, altough when I went in July 2007 the potholed entrance road could have used some work. It's also the road to Shireoaks Hall.
