In compiling this website I visited a dozen churches. All of them had plaques like this dedicated to the dead of 2 world wars, but mostly WW 1. Hundreds of dead in this and surrounding small villages in 1914-18. The population of Ulley when privates Bartle, Maxfield, and Sigsworth were killed was about 200.

They would have had children who would have had grandchildren by now.
