Here's a couple of pictures of the railway that runs through Treeton. See also the Railway map 1915 that shows the network at its peak, and which of the old railway companies owned the track, many of which were laid to service the local collieries, or collieries sunk because they were next to a railway line. The coke from old Orgreave coking plant that shut in the late 1980s was carried to the blast furnaces in Scunthorpe along this line. There was a pub next to the bridge (called The Bridge), but it has gone the way of many pubs and shut. It is now a nursery and kids school holiday club.
