The 18th century Thurcroft Hall photographed from Steadfolds Lane in the autumn of 1999.
Untill the pit was sunk in around 1910 Thurcroft was just the hall and 3 farms (one shown below). Immediately to the left of the above picture is the devastated wasteland that is all that's left of Thurcroft pit, seen elsewhere on the Thurcroft pages.
