This is a panorama of Whitby Harbour and Whitby's West Cliff, North Yorkshire, in August 2010. If the image were printed 1:1 it would be about 2.5m wide. This is the harbour that Captain Cook's Endeavour was built and sailed from, and the beach to the bottom left is where Bram Stoker had Dracula make English landfall on in his eponymous 1897 novel. In the distance at the other end of the bay, Sandsend and the famous Jurassic cliffs that so many fossils were (and are) found, and a source of jet for jewellry, are visible .
